John Lennon always dreamed for a peaceful world and equal people. He shared his wish to the world through the lyrics of the song “Imagine”
John Lennon wished there wasn’t heaven and hell so people wouldn’t fight about the fact that only good people go to heaven and the bad ones go to hell. If there was only sky, and people didn’t have any enemies they would live peacefully.
If there weren’t any countries and religions people wouldn’t go to war. If people didn’t fight about who had more land in their country or which religion is the true one, all the innocent people they killed would still be alive.
In the end people acussed John Lennon of being a dreamer but if everyone wished the same, maybe the world changed and everyone lived at peace.
About John Lenon
John Lennon was born in 1946 and known for being a singer and songwriter. Before joining his last band “The Beatles” he was in the band “The Quarry Men”.
John Lennon didn’t have the happiest childhood. Since he was four his parents got separated and he lived with his aunt, Mimi. His passion for music appeared when he was young and learned to play the harmonica and banjo.
He was a symbol of peace and love but sadly, he got murdered in 1980.

Imagine (analysis)
In the first verse we need to imagine that there is not any heaven or hell and we should not stress about bad things or good things. We need to imagine that there is only sky and ground.
In the rest of the song, Lennon says that we need to live together as one so there wouldn’t be countries to go to war for them. That there is no religion to be wrong and fight about it. That all the people in the world don’t have to worry or stress about what happened yesterday or tomorrow, just what’s happening today and right now. We also need to imagine no possessions. There would not be any greedy people and hunger and we could share everything.
People describe him as a dreamer but the truth is that the world would be better the way he said. For a better future all the people should unite but in our times that’s unlikely.

The band also included his friend, Paul McCartney.
They had a lot of success in this formula, having hundreds of concerts around the world.
John Lennon married 2 times and had a son.
Besides music, he was involved in a lot of humanitarian projects, having a few songs that supported his cause antiwar and pro peace.
He was assassinated by a fan in front of his house in the 80’s.

ReplyDeleteHe tries to imagine this song as a much better world than the present.
He imagines how the world will be without Heaven and Hell, without borders and countries as without religions for what people argue.
In the eyes of the world, he is a dreamer and he hopes he is not alone.
Also, he teaches us to imagine the world without our valuable things and without being greedy.

Sadly,on decembre 8th 1980 he was shot at 40 years old because of his belifes,his legacy and affect on music still remain.
This isnt my first time hearing his or his bands music but i never knew it was him!
