Axolotl is an endangered salamder that lives only in Mexico. It is also called ' water monster ' or ' Mexican walking fish ' . 

The axolotl is a popular pet that can grow up to 30 cms. It has got a long tail even if its legs are short and its feet are small. It is amazing that it can regenerate parts of its body . 

The axolotl is dark brown with speckles. When they are young they  are called larvae . They grow up by metamorphosis . 

They eat fish, insects, mollusks and other axolotls !😮! In captivity they live up to 15 years , but in the wild they only a third .
